Note:
What cautions should users take when KongPower battery is overdischarged?
Li-Po batteries are usually severely damaged when they are overdischarged.
Batteries of other brands would be inflated if one unknowingly overdischarges
them for couple of times.
Now only KongPower batteries could withstand overdischarging without
inflation. We strongly suggest the users to take cautions of the following
when the batteries are being charged after being overdischarged to increase
the life of the batteries.
1. When KongPower battery is overdischarged, the user MUST balance charge it.
Please avoid direct charge of the battery, because the voltage of the cells
becomes unbalanced after overdischarge.
When direct charge, the cell with the lowest voltage reaches 4.2V later than
cells with higher voltage which by then are overcharged. This could cause the
battery to discharge with different rate. The life of the battery could be
affected in a long run.
2. KongPower battery absolutely withstands overdischarge, but the life of
battery is still limited. The capacity of the battery gradually decreases as
usage goes up. Appropriate usage and maintenance are necessary.
3. We suggest pilots to use timer while using KongPower battery in flights,
or land your aircraft immediately when you feel the power is weakened.
4. If the battery temperature is abnormal after use. Please check if the
battery is severely overdischarged, or If the voltage between the cells is
significantly unbalanced, please balance the cells. Do not leave the cells
unbalanced.
The advices above are only applicable to maintain KongPower batteries.
Overdischarging battery of other brands might be dangerous.
